ATTENTION TARGETEERS!!

I've been driving all day and my eyes are about mush, so bare with me as I try to get this post out before going to sleep....

I got an email from Ann over at Coupons Deals & More this evening. She had been on one of my fave messageboards ferreting out some Target intelligence for today. Wellllllllllll, she came across this nugget of info:

ALL STORES begin Price Matching on Sunday

Some markets have been testing price matching for the past few months, and Target was planning on rolling the program out company-wide mid-August. However, because of a goof in next week's circular (all markets, supposedly), ALL STORES will begin price matching on THIS Sunday, July 12.

Some key points:

-Guests can only price match for IDENTICAL items (size, model #, color, etc.)

-Guest must have a current, FULL in-store competitor ad in-hand (no single pages, no online print-outs, etc.)

-Target will not price match for % off sales (i.e. If a TV is listed as $799 at Wal-Mart, we can price match to $799. But if Wal-Mart lists the TV as 20% off, we cannot take 20% off the Target price).

-Target will not price match 'membership' stores (i.e. Sam's Club)

- Doorbusters and other "timed events" are not eligible for the price match
-All price matching must be handled at Guest Service. If a guest goes through line and wants to do a price match, the cashier must ring up the item at Target's price and then direct the guest to Guest Service upon completion.

-Guests can price match up to 7 days after a purchase.

So now you know that you must go armed with the full ad for the price match you want.
You must also go to Guest Services to get it.

I can see it now---lines out the door, frazzled customers because once again Target didn't train their employees. Remeber they have a "goof" in the ad so who knows if this is nationwide for sure or not. This rollout was planned for August. In some areas it may still be August.

Watch YOUR AD in YOUR market to see the price match announcement someplace. I'm guessing in the center of the ad more or less banner style across both pages OR on the back page on the very bottom with all the small print info. Remember your store may not have it and even if it does, you may have a fight on your hands to get the price match. The verbage above is NOT official---it came from an employee who got it.

I had a hard time getting it to load. Could have been me or could have been that the site is getting slammed with visits. Coupons.com Updated List of Coupons - 7/6/09

The coupons available to you will be determined the zip code you use. YMMV (your mileage may vary) depending on whether you have already printed these coupons or not.
